Applications: For automotive watch glass polishing.
 

Instructions:

1. Put the sanding paper on the Backing Pad, use sanding paper grit 80 or 240 first for coarse polishing 2--5 minutes , you will see the deep scrach getting lighter, but the glass will get many light scrach and vague. It is OK, don't worry.

(Attention : Try your best to focus on the area where the scrach is ,so you will not make too many new light scrach to the area where no need polish, so save your time.)

2. Then use grit 800 for fine polishing ,to remove light scrach caused by 1st step, the working area should be biger to cover the area of 1st step, use a pen or label drawing on the back of glass so you can know where the area of scrach is.

3.Check whether the deep scrach get lighter ad lighter and disappear at last , then use grit 3000 ,then 7000 for the best fine polishing.

4. Using which grit first is decided by how deep the scarch is ,it means sometimes you no need follow my suggested grit order. For example, you can use Grit 240 sanding paper at first to remove light scrach,no need use grit 80 .

5. Druing the process please check the glass every 2--3 minutes, you will see deep scrach dispear after 10--20 minutes, glass will get many light scrach and be vague.

 

Now you can use cerium oxide powder to polish this vague glass , folow below 5 steps , glass will get clear and transparent . I suggest you do a pre-test at other glass first to get some experience.

1.Mix some water with Cerium Oxide Powder to wet paste.

2.Apply a small amount of the wet paste to the glass and wool felt.

3.Let the felt rub in a circular motion by using a power tool. Not exceed 2000 RPM, 2KG pressure.

4.Work the polishing bob over the scratch, applying more polishing paste as needed. Put some water to cool the glass because excess heat will crack glass.

5.Repeat until the light scratch is no longer visible.
